White Coat Cares

White Coat – (noun) a long white protective garment worn by doctors, healthcare personnel, and researchers; often considered a symbol of professionalism, compassion, and humanism.

Some of the most important factors in determining the health outcomes of populations comes from their understanding of proper hygiene and nutrition, the accessibility to healthcare knowledge, and the availability of related goods and services. Vulnerable, low-income, families and individuals can find themselves disenfranchised in these regards, at times not having the means to address vital health related needs. Such concerns can eventually lead to otherwise preventable non-communicable and communicable diseases, severely hampering one’s quality of life.

White Coat Cares - a non-profit, public health outreach, organization – aims to support the health improvement of vulnerable populations by directly providing materials, education, and services to partner organizations, families, and individuals. We strive to improve health outcomes efficiently and effectively, through utilizing evidence-based practices and public health data. When possible, it is one of our goals to contribute to improving outreach practices by collecting and interpreting data from projects we are involved in. It is our intention to pursue these missions with transparency, compassion, and care.

Our organization is majorly comprised of healthcare providers, and partners in healthcare, but we welcome anyone interested in our mission. Members range from physicians, nurses, field-experts, researchers, pharmacists, medical students, optometrists, and hospital administrators; to mental health experts, EMT's, paramedics, medical assistants, and other allied health professionals; to those in finance, economics, statistics, computer science, and management. By utilizing the lenses of various healthcare providers and members of the community, while applying evidence-based practices, we hope to produce real, measurable, changes in health outcomes for those in adverse socio-economic circumstances, who would otherwise have difficulty achieving their optimal health.
